"Precious Turner." There was an English boogie-woogie piano man who performed as

Precious Clarence Turner until his death some years ago at age 50. I'm trying to find out more about him. I believe his real name was Jimmy Hoaks, but am not at all sure about the spelling. Any help will be appreciated. Bob Dehoney, rdehoney@bellsouth.net (F04)

Ghost Stories of Jazz: Would like to hear about any ghostly/paranormal experiences anyone has had that are connected with jazz or jazzmen. E-mail, snail-mail or the oral tradition (on my nickel).  Sheryl Smith, 1915 Bellomy St., No. 2, Santa Clara, CA 95050, phone: (408) 247-5534; sheryllsmith@earthlink.net. (S04)

Beginning work on a second edition of biodiscography first published in 1986 with the late Bob Hilbert.  I am, of course, interested in any information not included in the first edition and any corrections.  In particular, any personal memorabilia or personal remembrances of performances, etc.  Aside from brief, virtually unidentifiable spots in "St. Louis Blues" and "Emperor Jones," my Holy Grail is any film.  (Is the Condon Floor Show rumor true?)  Thanks for any help.  Scott Brown, 2108 Woodtop Way, Bel Air, MD 21015;  home phone: (410) 515-3655; work phone: (410) 601-6585;

Bob Morgan, guitarist/University Four/CD releases: Does anyone know the whereabouts, perhaps L.A. area, of family, e.g., wife, son or daughter Brenda, of the late Bob Morgan, guitarist, who played with Benny Goodman, among others?

Does anyone have 78s by the University Four, a violin/accordion group that recorded for an unidentified budget label in the 1940s, after the war?

AB Fable is preparing its next CD releases, including Eddie South broadcasts and rare; Ginger Smock studio and demo; History of the Swing to Bebop violin.  We would be glad to hear from anyone who may have unreleased/obscure/aircheck/ET recordings that we may not know about by Perry, Smith, Smock, South, etc.
